kumbaya

i attended the support group sponsored by my physician tonight. there were about 10 people there and i was very surprised that i was one of only two new bandsters. the other new person was from august -- so not even that new. i was hoping that there would be real live people to share this journey with weekly and step by step.

some were at goal/maintenance and others were not. most were more than a year out from their surgery. based on their observations and comments you can see that attitude has a lot to do with success.

it was a nice group. i walked out with a couple ladies and they were very encouraging. one had me feel her port (lol) and the other gave me a can of tasteless protein for me to add to my food to get my protein counts up.

the group is moderated by the surgeon's wife who is an RN and bariatric coordinator. she is very cool. she also mentioned that i may be able to move away from soups to cottage cheese, egg salad and hummus in order to get me away from the gluten world of soups. i am seeing the surgeon tomorrow anyways, so i will confirm with him. YAY!
